WHAT IS THE WORLD OF WOOD PLAN ROOM?

The Plan Room is an efficient way we share current client-approved design and shop drawings. Project owners, designers, architects, contractors and subcontractors may view, download and print these drawings 24/7. Secondly, the Plan Room serves as a file server that allows us to transfer files that are too large to reliably e-mail to and receive from other parties.

HOW DOES THE WORLD OF WOOD PLAN ROOM WORK?

Plan Room access is given to project owners, designers, architects, contractors and subcontractors. World of Wood distributes a unique username and password to appropriate parties. The 'log on' window may be accessed using the link above or by typing ftp.worldofwood.com in the address bar of Internet Explorer. After logging on with the appropriate  username and password the Plan Room is open. The Plan Room is structured with folders and files the same way as Windows Explorer.

Project design and shop drawings are in PDF format and may be viewed using a PDF viewer such as Adobe Reader. Files may be opened and/or saved to the user's computer. Drawings may be printed to the user's printer or forwarded to a print service company for printing.

Transferring files to and from World of Wood is quite simple. Parties that would like to forward files to us may contact us to obtain a username and password for the Plan Room. To upload a file to the Plan Room users may copy the file from their computer and paste it in the appropriate folder when logged on the Plan Room. We can then download the file from this location. When we want to forward a file, we upload the file to the Plan Room, give a username and password to a user who may then log on the Plan Room, copy the file and paste it in their computer.

Note: Download speed is generally faster than upload speed and both speeds are dependant upon the speed of the user's internet connection. World of Wood, Ltd. drawings are copyrighted. They are available for project related purposes only and may not be used for any other purposes.
