JOB DESCRIPTION
Wisconsin’s premiere millwork and cabinetry company is seeking a CAD Production
Engineering Manager.
World of
Wood specializes in designing and creating custom woodwork for luxury homes.
Being second generation, family owned and having a 20,000 sq. ft. facility, we
are large enough to commission a good work volume, small enough to be personal,
and expert enough to do work in the finest homes.
Candidate must have the following skills:
- Years
of experience in an engineering/drafting environment.

Software proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Excel and MS Word.
- Have
supervisor/management skills.
Primary
responsibilities include:
- Know
the project from start to finish; review design intent, be familiar with
construction methods, engineer within budget, know jobsite conditions, field
measure

Prepare detailed CAD drawings of complex premium millwork; elevations,
sections, details, materials, specifications, annotate, accurate calculations
of dimensions, schedules
- Field
measure project
-
Create and maintain client folders in computer and job assignment binders for
CAD team
-
Create overall CAD schedule based on client and plant production needs
-
Create and/or update typical details page, cabinetry and millwork schedule,
appliance schedule, cabinetry hardware schedule, architectural door schedule,
architectural door hardware schedule, moulding schedule

Manage and schedule CAD team and job assignments
-
Review CAD drawings for accuracy, dimensions, construction methods, materials,
logic, etc.
- Work
with Project Management for shop drawing reviews, approvals and timelines

Materials ordering; stock materials should be on hand at all times, special
orders, sample approvals, critical materials needing extra ordering time, know
material specifications, know suppliers and work with them

Answer questions and problem solving with design and production personnel
- Keep
educated in CAD, new technologies, production methods, World of Wood
production process, and market trends.

Training; conduct training to keep CAD team working with a common knowledge
base, working efficiently, and using consistent methods to deliver excellence.

Continue to work on and advance the CAD Block Library and Palettes already
existing
- Good
communication skills, personality and ability to work with others within and
outside the company.

Knowledge of millwork fabrication, techniques and design a plus.

WI office is within commuting distance of Milwaukee, Madison and lake country
region.
